PART TWO:
DAMAGE RESULTING FROM NOT CONSIDERING FOOD SAFETY
Food safety is an important issue in
ensuring our health and well-being. Not paying attention to food safety can
have serious consequences for our health. The following are the consequences
that may arise from not complying with the important principles of food safety.
- Food poisoning: Eating food that is spoiled or contaminated with bacteria, viruses, or other toxins can cause food poisoning. Food poisoning can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, and even serious diseases such as cholera. These effects can adversely affect people's health and even cause death.
- Getting sick: Foods that contain harmful bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, or Campylobacter can cause foodborne illness. Symptoms may include bloody diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, and nausea. These diseases can greatly affect the food system and cause long-term problems for human health.
- Parasitic Infections: Parasites such as Giardia or Cryptosporidium can be transmitted through food and cause foodborne infections. Symptoms may include diarrhea, gas, weight loss, and vomiting. Fungal infections can affect the body's immunity and cause poor nutrition and weakness.
- Eating Chemical Poisons: Foods that have been contaminated with harmful chemicals such as pesticides or preservatives can cause chemical poisoning in people who eat them. Long-term consumption of foods containing dangerous chemicals can cause harm to human health, such as damage to the liver, kidneys, or nervous system.
- Allergies: Not paying attention to food safety can cause harm to people with allergies. Eating unsafe food can cause adverse reactions to an allergic person such as irritation, inflammation, breathing problems, and even anaphylactic shock which can be very dangerous.
It is very important to pay attention to food safety to avoid these effects on our health and that of our loved ones. Following food safety rules, such as buying food from trusted sources, storing food at the right temperature, washing hands properly, and cooking food properly, are important steps in preventing food safety hazards.
