A woman’s place is in the kitchen?

Today, its most definitely in the food innovation ecosystem!

Women are vital to food security, there productive and reproductive roles put them at the Centre of food security more than any other group. It is true that in Africa where, both as farmers and as home managers, women determine the feeding habits, dietary patterns, and nutrition and food security of their households.

Thus promoting female nutrition literacy is argued to be an important policy strategy that African leaders and development partners should consider in framing and implementing interventions for food security. But it can be hard to know how to get started especially for the new bees. That is why Afyabora nutrition organization together with our partners we have decided to show case works of women along the food system from production to the decision making, so as to learn, share experience and discover challenges and solutions  faced by champion women working to improve food and nutrition security in Tanzania.


The Project Aim

This webinar series is dedicated to show case women involvement in food system from production stage, distribution and value addition, research and academics and women involvement in policy making and planning in relation to food and nutrition.

The Project Purpose

This webinar series will bring together various women stake holders in nutrition and food sector to discuss and show case their work. Various audiences will be involved in the participation; female youth are highly favored so as to learn from the successful ones”.

The Webinar Platform.

All the webinar series will be conducted using Google Meet platform.

The Webinar Language to be Used

Due to its geographical focus to be Tanzania a country that Swahili is the main language, the webinars will be conducted in Kiswahili language although some English words may be used in the presentation or explanation about the webinar.
